My research interests include primary prevention of gendered violence, promoting the sexual health and well-being of youth, comprehensive sex education, youth as social change agents, and raising critical consciousness of systemic oppression (e.g., rape culture). My master's thesis focused on middle school students' experiences of gendered violence, titled "Being a target and a witness: Exploring middle school students' sexual harassment experiences." My dissertation focuses on identifying ecological factors (i.e., parents, peers, schools, and individual behaviors) that predict early sexual initiation.
