MSU SAFE PLACE

resized safe place logoMSU Safe Place is the only university in the country with its own on-campus domestic violence shelter program. Safe Place serves students, faculty, staff and their spouses/partners and non-affiliated members of the surrounding communities. We provide advocacy, emergency shelter, counseling, support groups, safety planning, information and referrals to survivors of violence and their minor children.  All services are free and confidential.

MSU CENTER FOR SURVIVORS

 The MSU Center for Survivors provides immediate crisis intervention and advocacy services to women and men who have been impacted by rape or sexual assault. Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Services available include: a 24-hour hotline; 24-hour medical advocacy; support groups; and legal advocacy. These services are available to survivors of sexual assault and their non-offending significant others.

CENTER FOR GENDER IN GLOBAL CONTEXT (GENCEN)

resized gencenThe Center for Gender in Global Context (GENCEN) is an interdisciplinary center in International Studies and Programs focused on gender, feminist, and women’s studies. Its affiliated faculty and students study how women and men from diverse racial, ethnic, national, and sexual backgrounds live in and engage with the world and how processes of global change affect gender relations locally, nationally, and internationally.

UNIVERSITY OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT

resized engagementUniversity Outreach and Engagement supports outreach work and creates teams to address community-identified social issues. MSU advocates a scholarly model of outreach and engagement that fosters a reciprocal and mutually beneficial relationship between the University and the public.

MSU MUSEUM

Michigan State University Museum is committed to understanding, interpreting, and respecting natural and cultural diversity. As Michigan’s land-grant university museum, this commitment to society is met through education, exhibitions, research, and the building and stewardship of collections that focus on Michigan and its relationship to the Great Lakes, and the world beyond.
